NFL Draft Tiers: Evaluations For QBs and WRs

“The game of football might be ruled by perfectionists, but at its core, success in the NFL comes down to managing the maddening, inexact science of talent evaluation and team building.”(Lombardi, 2018) This project will focus on examining and demonstrating the appropriate use of data evaluation and analysis tools of the NFL when it comes to the science of the NFL Draft and drafting Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers. In this examination, the available analytics, data, and technology tools the NFL Teams use to evaluate Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers will be reviewed. These examinations will focus on how these positions are drafted and evaluated through threshold based evaluations. The evaluations teams use for looking at these positions are mostly measurable, but some immeasurable's are also involved. The secondary examination will showcase the success that leads to said draftees producing in the NFL. Once both have been examined a new grading scale will be created based upon the combined efforts of the evaluations and their correlation to success.
