College Football is by far and away my favorite sport to watch, follow, and analyze. From watching in my living room to attending games, it is always the best experience for me. The history, rivalries, passion, pageantry, and fandom behind the sport are what drive me to not only want but need College Football in my life. Furthermore, I genuinely believe College Football is the greatest thing ever invented in the history of the world. Hence why the analysis above is so interesting to me. The study dives into the depths of Sports Analytics, Sports Management, And Sports Economics for college football and what it takes to be successful on and off the field.
This article written by Deloitte is an essential piece on where the future of sports is headed. With new technologies come new ways to quantify data points around athletes and the sports they play. With these new data points, we can improve how we analyze and improve players in various aspects of their sports. Furthermore, this goes towards how we can analyze and improve sports with new technologies. In my other blog post, I discuss some examples of these aspects, from improvement upon the goal line technology in football to using the Relative Athletic Score for scouting football players, to looking at the Sports Analytics, Sports Management, and Sports Economics of college football. I think it is of the utmost importance to stay informed and look for emerging technologies and analytics and use and implement these technologies and analyses in sports on and off the field. If an organization wants to reach its potential and stay at the top, it must take advantage of everything it can.
